The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) offers a yearlong course of sacramental preparation and faith exploration for students who want to learn about the Catholic faith. Team-taught by a Dominican Friar and a Sister, the class meets weekly and is designed for those who were baptized Catholic but have not received their other Sacraments of Confirmation and/or First Communion. The RCIA program cultivates a beautiful experience of community for those who were baptized in another Christian denomination and would like to explore the possibility of becoming Catholic and those who have never been baptized and would like to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation. Students experience a day of service in the fall and a retreat in Duxbury, MA in the spring. Participants enjoy social gatherings at Christmas and a dinner with the Bishop of Rhode Island. Alumni and student leaders provide informal times to gather and discuss questions that may arise during the course of the year. Overall, it is a great way to journey in the faith with fellow Friars.  There is no better time, no better place to begin or complete your sacraments than here in PC’s RCIA program!  Friars.
